Beautiful day. Fresh air ✅
You know when you take a million selfies to get the one where you look your most acceptable ....this was the first take ! Blessed. Not sure what that weird strap under my chin is, or those weird lines around my mouth for that matter. #selfieesteemsaturday
“ then something akin to happiness shimmers into view “ . 💗So delighted with this beautiful piece of art from @paulamcgurdyart as part of her ‘ love letters .’ The words on mine come from ‘Manual for Heartache’ by Cathy Rentzenbrink , which I read last summer. I wasn’t heartbroken , romantically speaking , but I was finding things all a bit too much and couldn’t see the wood for the trees. At the end of the book , Cathy writes a letter ( I actually forget to who !) , but I suppose it’s for anyone who feels overwhelmed. It begins ‘ my dear, my dear sometime in the future you are in a bit of a pickle.’ It ends - “Don’t worry about not being happy. Life isn’t supposed to be a non stop ego stroking barrage of treats. If I lower my expectations about what I’m entitled to, if I look for ways to create meaning and purpose for myself and others , then something akin to happiness shimmers into view. “ Thank you @paulamcgurdyart for this visual reminder of those words 💗
We did nothing today. ( We shopped , cleaned, tidied, bathed, baked, talked, read, cooked.) But we did nothing today. Then we went outside this evening to look at the moon. And that was what we did today.
London with my Mam : Newcastle : Repealing : Snow : Starting school : Chimamanda. All years have their highs and lows , these were some of my good points for 2018.
No one is more excited about life than this girl. Long may it last.
#bestnine 2018 A mortifying number of selfies and “ yes, yes I will yes.” And Yes , we did #repealed
We’ve been visiting the deer in Phoenix Park for years , and in the last couple of years it’s got really busy. So we got a up nice and early this morning to see them , and whilst I was slightly questioning that choice as we climbed out of bed this morning - it was worth it.
Today Rachel ‘ performed ‘ in two Christmas shows. She took the leading role of ‘ sheep ‘ in the Nativity at school this morning , then this evening was her first ever gymnastics display. This involved lots of running around and at least one forward roll. I cried my way through both of them, and not just because of Rachel. All the kids were adorable and brave. Festive joy 💕🎄
